Family Bible

 

There’s a Family Bible on the table

And it brings back sweet memories to me

Of that old home nestled in the wildwood

When from the family Bible dad would read.

 

I can see us gathered round the table

When from the family Bible dad would read

I can still hear mother softly singing

Rock of Ages, Rock of Ages cleft for me.

 

And each day when work was over

And after all the supper dishes done

Dad would read from the old family Bible

We’d pray and count our blessings one by one.
